Coaches are crucial to soccer. Thousands of coaches across the US give countless hours of dedicated service to tens of thousands of athletes. Soccer needs you to ensure recruitment and retention of athletes. Soccer needs you to ensure that athletes perform to their potential. That will not happen without coaches like you. Soccer needs excellent coaches, skilfully guiding youngsters through the fun and excitement of early competition and training, instilling a love of working hard to achieve goals, but avoiding the dangers of over specialisation, over training and too much pressure. Soccer needs expert coaches who can identify and nurture talent in its widest sense, allowing it to blossom. We have some brilliant coaches – we need more. We want to ensure that our coaches are effectively supported, developed and deployed and that coaches work together for the good of athletes and other coaches throughout the sport.
