A detailed description of each of the CEP courses and learning opportunities offered by AYSA
Youth Modules I & II
YM1- D IV; YM2- DIII minimum requirement
All candidates must pre-register with AYSA 10 days prior to the schedule start date of the course. If a minimum of 12 candidates is not pre-registered on time, the course may be canceled. The maximum number of candidates will be determined by the size of the facility and the availability of instructors needed to maintain a good candidate to instructor ratio. These courses are specifically designed for the under 6, under 8, under 10 & under 12 age group players. The 4-hour courses combine both classroom and field sessions to illustrate age appropriate coaching/teaching techniques.

* Philosophy of coaching in regard to the specific age group player
* Characteristics of the specific age group player
* Team Management & Administration
* Risk Management
* Care and Prevention of Soccer Injuries
* Modified laws of the game
* Developmentally and age appropriate Field Activities and Games
Prerequisites:
* An Open Mind and a desire to give the children the best soccer experience possible
* A Minimum age of 14 years old
* Candidates must attend all scheduled course sessions.
* Certification received: Age group specific State Module Certificate
* This includes a coach workbook, and USYSA curriculum.
State "E" Course
*DII (minimum requirement)
$65.00 per candidate
This course is designed for coaches working with the 9-14 year old advanced player. The 18-hour course combines classroom and field sessions covering a wide range of intermediate coaching/teaching topics. This course also serves as a prerequisite for the State "D" license course.

Prerequisites:
* A Minimum age of 16 years old
* Candidates must attend all scheduled course sessions and complete a take home examination
* Certification received: State "E" Certificate
* Cost: $65 per candidate. This includes course materials.
State "D" Course

$135.00 per candidate
The 36-hour course offers an in depth coaching/teaching curriculum focusing on the U14 & older advanced youth player. In order to complete the course, all candidates are required to pass a comprehensive set of theoretical and practical examinations. The State "D" course serves as the preparatory course for the USSF National Licensing Program. Classroom and field sessions.

Prerequisites:
* Minimum age of 16 years old and one of the following:
* A State "E" Certificate or equivalent held for at least 1 year or an approved "E" wavier (See waiver requirement policy)
Candidates must attend all scheduled sessions and pass examinations in the following areas:
* Practical Coaching Field Exam - Technical Topic
* Written Exam - Care and Prevention
* Written Exam - Laws of the Game
* Video Exam - Tactics and Methods
Upon completion of the course, candidates will receive one of three Certifications based on their examination results.
* Pass with a National "D" license. This is the highest state certification available. The National "D" license enables the candidate to attend a National "C" course after the Mandatory 1 year waiting period.
* Pass with a State "D" license. This is certification required for all competitive coaches in Alabama. Coaches who wish to upgrade to a National "D" license must retake the entire "D" course and pass with the appropriate national score.
* Fail. The candidate will receive a certificate of participation and is encouraged to take another "D" course.

NSCAA Goalkeeping Institute
State Goalkeeping Diploma (Level I)
The overall objective of the State Goalkeeping Diploma is to explore some of the myths and mystiques surrounding the goalkeeping function. The six-hour course is directed towards the team coach - not the specialist goalkeeper coach. The object is to empower the coach with knowledge and practice methods that will enable the coach to evaluate a goalkeeper in game situations and then design an appropriate practice program for goalkeepers in and outside of team practices. The course includes lecture (theory) and field (practical) sessions.
Regional Goalkeeping Diploma (Level II)
The overall objective of the Regional Goalkeeping Diploma is to create an optimal learning environment for this specialized position. The twelve-hour course is geared towards the specialist goalkeeping coach and the team coach looking for in-depth information surrounding the coaching of goalkeepers. The course includes both lecture (theory) and field (practical) sessions. An NSCAA State Goalkeeping Diploma is a prerequisite for this course.
National Goalkeeping Diploma (Level III)
The overall objective of the National Goalkeeping Diploma is to explore the tactical components of goalkeeping and the specifics of training and developing goalkeepers. The emphasis of this eighteen-hour course is on the tactical role of the goalkeeper within the team framework. All candidates wishing to take the National Goalkeeping Diploma must have the State and Regional Goalkeeping Diplomas or equivalent (NSCAA Level I & II or NSCAA/USSF Level I and Level II Diplomas).
