Gwynne Williams, formally goalkeeper coach for the New England Revolution joined the Revolution coaching staff in February 2007 after 12 seasons on staff of a NCAA Division II soccer powerhouse Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. Since joining the Revolution, Gwynne helped establish New England’s goalkeeping corps as one of the best and most consistent in the league.
Gwynne was a member of Steve Nicol’s coaching staffs at the 2007 and 2008 MLS All-Star Games, helping the league post victories over Scottish Premier League giant Celtic FC in 2007 and English Premier League side West Ham United in 2008.
A native of St. Helens, England, Gwynne has been on the coaching advisory councils of the Canadian Soccer Association and Bermuda Football Association. An NSCAA National Goalkeeping Instructor, Gwynne is a member of the USSF National Coaching Staff and holds a USSF "A" coaching license.
Gwynne earned his certificate of education from Nonington College of Physical Education in 1975, and completed his bachelor of education degree at London University in 1976.
Gwynne currently lives south of Boston with his partner, Paula. He has two grown children, Michelle and Oliver, and one younger son, Toby (2).
